Brave went from 8.7 million monthly active users in October to 10.4 million MAU at the end of November, a 19% increase across all platforms. This represents a doubling of Brave’s MAU in one year. Daily active users tripled in the last 12 months, to 3.3 million. What is Brave Browser?
Brave Browser is a web browser almost like most others, with the exception that it is anti-ads and pro- privacy.
Like most web browsers, it’s also free to use. It is based on the same Chromium project that is the power behind the Chrome browser. This means that most Chrome extensions are also compatible with Brave Browser.
The big difference is that Chrome is owned by Google, so has an interest in tracking you around the web and does not block ads by default.

From the moment you download Brave Browser, ads and trackers are blocked by default and you don’t need to go hunting around for ad blocker extensions, but if you have any extensions you currently use in Chrome or Firefox, they are most likely also available for Brave Browser, as it is fully compatible with extensions and add-ons on the Chrome extensions website. These means you can still fully customize it to your liking, but won’t have to worry about Google tracking you around or any of the other trackers or big ad companies tracking everything you do online and slowing up your internet to show you cluttering and distracting ads.
The fingerprinting feature bars third parties from tracking your activity. This feature can be activated in the settings tab.
Unlike most common browsers, Brave also helps to fight phishing and malware.
